Matthew Forrest is a Lead Scientist at Biocrucible with >15 years of experience with Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) isothermal DNA amplification technology and point-of care diagnostics.
At TwistDx he developed several IVD tests, led development of the TwistAmp Liquid kit and made critical contributions to the development of the Alere-i (Abbott ID NOW) platform, the first CLIA-waived molecular testing platform.
Since working as an instructor on workshops for the Wellcome Trust in LMIC, Matthew has been interested in developing affordable, workable molecular diagnostics that are suitable for the needs of such resource limited settings.
Matthew received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from University of York and his Molecular Biology PhD from the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and undertook post doctoral studies at UC Berkeley and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.
