We are currently recruiting aProcess Development Research Assistant to undertake protein production process optimization and scale up.

You’ll sit within a small, focused team of 4 in our labs at Chesterford. This means there are plenty of highly experienced people nearby to learn from.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct protein expression, purification, and characterization experiments following protocols and procedures
• Perform protein analysis techniques, including SDS-PAGE and protein quantification assays
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated and maintained
• Prepare buffers, reagents, and solutions required for protein experiments
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, experimental data, and documentation
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to data analysis and interpretation

Preferred experience

• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably with a focus on protein expression and purification
• Knowledge of protein expression systems (bacterial, mammalian, yeast) and protein purification techniques (affinity chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, etc.) is desirable
• Proficiency in protein analysis techniques, such as SDS-PAGE and protein quantification assays
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
